One of the foundations of our society and economy is personal freedom of movement. No other technological achievement has contributed as much to this part of life as the car. That’s why we will continue doing everything possible to ensure the future of individual mobility by developing new technologies and sustainable concepts. One of the most promising approaches is electric propulsion.
Take, for example, the Opel Ampera – Europe’s first electric vehicle that is powered by electricity at all times and can be used without compromise. Its revolutionary technology and outstanding performance is reflected in its groundbreaking design.
The Opel Ampera’s E-REV (extended-range electric vehicle) technology also works in larger vehicles. This has been impressively demonstrated by the 4.7-meter long Opel Flextreme GT/E concept car. With a maximum speed of 200 km/h, it offers – like the Opel Ampera – mobility without compromise and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 9 seconds.
As you can see, the Opel Ampera and electric concept cars like the Opel Flextreme GT/E are taking us a crucial step closer to an electrically powered future.
The HydroGen4 car – the fourth generation of fuel cell vehicles – is the result of over ten years of research into fuel cells and hydrogen. Its advanced technology is a dream come true: instead of combustion it uses an electro-chemical reaction to power the electric drive. Water vapor is all that comes out of the exhaust pipe – the HydroGen4 produces no harmful emissions.
Its engine performance proves the value of this innovative technology: 73 kW (100 hp), 0 to 100 km/h in 12 seconds and a top speed of 160 km/h. It has a range of 340 km and features a 1.8 kWh battery backup.
The HydroGen4 has already undergone successful real-world testing on the roads of Berlin. To date, the customers participating in the test have covered more than 80,000 km in daily use.
