Rüsselsheim. Opel Board Member in charge of Sales, Marketing & Aftersales, Alain Visser, has been promoted to a new senior position with global responsibility at Chevrolet.
Effective March 1, he will become Global Chevrolet Marketing Vice President, focusing on all markets outside North and South America. This appointment is part of a realignment of global marketing responsibilities for Chevrolet to further propel momentum and growth of GM’s largest brand. In this new position, Visser will be responsible for defining Chevrolet’s brand differentiation strategy, for overseeing marketing strategies, and for enhancing alignment in all Chevrolet markets outside of North and South America. In this function, he will report to Joel Ewanick, GM’s Chief Marketing Officer.
“I would like to thank Alain Visser for his tremendous contribution during his tenure with Opel/Vauxhall,” said Karl-Friedrich Stracke, CEO of Opel/Vauxhall. “Alain Visser has guided the repositioning of the Opel brand and moved up its image significantly. I wish him all the best for his new job within GM.”
Visser has been a member of the Opel/Vauxhall Management Board since 2004. A successor will be named in due course.
