Rüsselsheim. Facebook fans are in for a nice Christmas surprise: Opel is offering users of the social media platform a Christmas gift with a difference. The app “Merry Astra GTC” gives Facebook users the opportunity to enter their friends in a competition to win an Astra GTC. This is how it works: users of the international-facing page (www.facebook.com/Opel) or of the German site (www.facebook.com/OpelDE) can nominate a friend from their network for the competition to win a Compact Coupé. They have until December 26 to do so. The nominee is then notified with an electronic message. If he or she decides to become a fan of the Opel pages and agrees to enter the raffle, it is then just down to luck. It is entirely possible that shortly after Christmas Eve, a brand new Astra GTC is parked outside. The Viennese social media agency “vi knallgrau” devised the Facebook app together with Opel.
