Two of Opel’s biggest product presentations for 2012 are taking place at this year’s Geneva Motor Show (March 8-18, 2012; visit Opel in Hall 2, Stand 2231). Opel is expanding its range with a brand new sub-compact SUV called Mokka. It is compact in size and big in attitute. The new Mokka delivers attractive design with innovative technologies and upmarket functionalities. The other world premiere is the new Astra OPC – the most powerful Astra ever. And there is much more like the new Insignia 2.0 BiTurbo CTDI.
With its 4.28 meters the new Opel Mokka generously accomodate five people. The Mokka not only delivers a dynamic driving experience, it’s packed with innovative technologies and upmarket functionalities. Safety is enhanced with technologies previously not available in this segment. The all-wheel drive system ensures a high level of stability and safety, while also extending the Mokka’s capabilities to more rugged environments.
The new Astra OPC is the most powerful Astra ever. Its 206 kW/280 hp 2.0 liter direct injection turbocharged gasoline engine is capable of maximum torque of 400 Nm and a top speed of 250 km/h. The High Performance Struts allow the car to deliver its power without compromise while the FlexRide chassis system gives it refined handling abilities. New high-performance bucket seats introduce cutting-edge weight-saving material and increase the sporty driving experience.
Opel’s new, dynamic and highly efficient 2.0 BiTurbo CDTI1 diesel engine makes its debut in the Insignia flagship. The Insignia 2.0 BiTurbo CDTI delivers 143 kW/195 hp and 400 Nm of torque; fuel consumption starts as low as 4.9 liters per 100 kilometers (129 g/km CO2). It is thus one of the most fuel efficient mid-size cars.
